Many mommy bloggers out there write monthly letters to their kids expressing their love and noting all of their recent accomplishments etc. and I have been wanting to write a letter to Jack for his six month “birthday” but every time I sit down to get started I just can’t put anything cohesive together that seems to express how I am feeling. I was reading a post of another mommy blogger about songs that remind her of her son and of course this got me thinking…
I thought of Jack after reading the song post and almost immediately I thought of a song I have always loved and respected because the artist wrote it about her son, Zion. The words have always made me cry. I looked up the lyrics and it rang so true to how I was feeling about Jack. It goes like this…
How beautiful if nothing more
Than to wait at Zion’s door
I’ve never been in love like this before
Now let me pray to keep you from
The perils that will surely come
See life for you my prince has just begun
And I thank you for choosing me
To come through unto life to be
A beautiful reflection of his grace
For I know that a gift so great
Is only one God could create
And I’m reminded every time I see your face
That the joy of my world is in Zion
Now the joy of my world is in Zion
I love you Jack. I am so blessed to have you in my life. Happy Six Months!
Love,
Mom
oops, I left my comment attached to the pictures of baby Jack…sorry. but since I’m backward/s (is it backward or backwards? I can never remember) anyway….the pictures are adorable and I love the one with the drool (5 month) especially..he’s SO sweet and adorable. (or soft and cudawee like Camryn used to say)
Oh my gosh, Mama Z, that is the most awesome 6 month birthday letter I’ve ever read! Actually, I think it’s the first one I’ve ever read too, but I honestly wish I had done more things like that for my own babies. Someday Jack will truly appreciate that letter!
Love you,
Aunt Amy
