Ok, so I told you I’d have a list all MY own… like I don’t have enough junk devoted to me in this blog in the first place. Like Jack really can’t live without new jeans. I made a promise (well, that’s not entirely accurate) and I’m going to keep it!
- I’m not sure I’ve ever shared this with you all… I have a tendency to find a new blog that I love and then I read through all or most of the archives. Sometimes reading through all of them is just crazyness, because there are so many… like Dooce (or as E calls it, “the Dooce”). Anyway, I don’t remember when exactly it was that I stumbled across Whoorl, but over the past several weeks I’ve been clicking through some of her categories and reading up. She is hi-larious. I read an old post on Ann Curry and almost died. I sometimes feel like I live on a different planet than the rest of the world. I don’t understand how the most annoying person in the world can be on Television EVERY DAY of the WEEK. Apparently, someone else understands my frustration.
- How lucky is the state of Colorado?! Their second state song is a John Denver song. How random is this factoid? Maybe we can vote in Grandma’s Featherbed as NC’s? I’m sure you’re thinking… what the?? But I have to admit that I’ve asked for JD’s greatest hits for every holiday over the past seven years (tiny exaggeration) and still haven’t gotten it!! I love him. I think it was his guest appearance on The Muppet Show that did it for me.
- So I’m not going to tell you how nice the weather is here… oh, wait. Yes, I am. FRIGGIN insanely nice. I’m loving it. It was upper 70’s yesterday. Low humidity. We had the playgroup out on Heather’s sun porch. In the shade. And I wasn’t cold. I’m always cold in the shade. And the sun wasn’t so hot that it felt like it was going to burn your hair off. Ahh. All the outside playtime made for one crazy napping baby. One two hour nap and one two and a half hour nap! Ahh.
- Ok, so I’m still loving wordpress. A world of a difference from Blogger. None of that messing around in the template trying to read the html code – or whatever the heck I was doing to magically put junk in my sidebar. What a pain! One downfall though. This stats stuff is driving me nutty. I’m checking it way to often. Like a super-dork. Number 743 on my list of to-do’s: Get A Life.
- LOST! I love this show! Who’s watching? You’re crazy if you aren’t! And WHAT the HECK was going on with Jack in the end!?
- So, I need some ideas, people! E and I are planning a trip to NYC for my 30th… I’m sure I’ve told you this 478 times… anyway, anyone been to any fabulous restaurants that we must go to as well? I’ve been doing a little research and have a list going, but I’ve always found that word of mouth is so much better. Although, I must must must have a cupcake here. Don’t you think? Just to say I’ve been there. And what about a doughnut here. Ok, so if you’ve been to a place we must try – let me know!
FINALLY!!! Someone who thinks Rachel freakin’ Ray needs to go scouting for $40/day places in Ethiopia or something. Dear God….I’d rather go to Wal-Hell than listen to/watch her.
WordPress IS awesome!! Even leaving a comment is so much easier than Blogger.
I don’t watch LOST and the last time I was in NYC I was 12. I was more concerned with the kickin’ toy store than where to eat :) Sorry…
grew up with whoorl. saw your comment. thought i would stop by! hi!
hubs and I went to NYC for the first time last fall. Went to Magnolia Bakery at 12am and got a not-so-fresh cupcake. I hated mine, but it was fun to stand in line with all the other crazies for some midnight treats. I would recomment eating at Johns Pizzeria though.

Make sure you go to the one in the West Village.
I dig your son’s name too. (it’s my hubbys name)

We went to NYC in 2000 and ate at Gramercy Tavern. It’s fairly pricey for the set menu, but I think they have a more casual eatery attached to it, which is less expensive. We thought it was well worth it though!
If it good food you want there are many restaurants that will do just fine, BUT when you use the word “fabulous” and if you want great food, wonderful view, first class service and something you can brag about (not that you ever brag about anything) you must go to the Four Seasons. http://www.fourseasons.com/newyorkfs/dining.html#
It will be an evening you will remember until at least your 40th birthday.
Oh, one more thing, tell EZ to take his best credit card.
What? Jackson dancing!! It must be Grandma Z’s doing. You better be careful leaving him with her and Grandpa Z he may just end up liking to dance. What is a mother to do???
Grandpa Z,
You are a crazy crazy man! OH, and thanks for the recommendation! We will definitely be visiting the Four Seasons! And bringing the Visa Black! Woo Hoo! haha!
Yes, I’m a witness….baby Jack is a great dancer!
