Here it is! The Love List: Holiday Edition! Woo Hoo!
- What a way to start the day on Christmas day… but with a delicious Zingerman’s coffee cake or three. We were turned on to Zingerman’s by my Mom and Step-Father. My mom sent me this last year… yum. And after reading about the coffee cake in In Style magazine (the sour cream coffee cake is a favorite of Mario Batali), I had to place an order for myself.
- It’s become a tradition that I order my Dad his favorite cheese from igourmet. I love it as much as he does and look forward to it every year. And I have to say, we have it every year, and have for as long as I can remember… and theirs is the best I’ve ever had. Divine.
- Let’s talk about divine. This place has become a tradition in our family, as well. For Thanksgiving we ordered (and they do online orders… which ship very well, I might add) a Grand Traverse Cherry Crumb pie, which was divine. Also, very high on my list is the Firehouse Strawberry Rhubarb (my birthday favorite). One thing I’m dying to try is their CHEESECAKE!
- I know I’ve said it a million times, but this is my favorite place for chocolate! You know what they say about chocolate… haha! I’m hoping that Santa brings me a little this year.
- Need something to keep the tiny tot warm and cozy? Try this! Or this!
- Speaking of warm and cozy… have you smelled this? I love it. Smells like Christmas to me.
- I’ve never been one for clothes on dogs, especially mine, but seriously, look at how cute this is!
- Or maybe you’re not so worried about freezing your toes off, like me. And would rather be running around in these or these.
- Seriously, though, isn’t it tradition that everyone get a sweater for Christmas? And how could you not love one like this? Or this?
- OH, I need your help, I can’t decide! Should I make this or this this year for Christmas?
Ok, so those are a few of my favorite things this year! Hope you’re all having a great week!
1. I am so glad you are giving me the skinny on the Grand Traverse Pie Company. One just opened here and I was wondering what it was all about. (Because calling it a “pie company” makes me all confused, wondering what the hell they sell…I’s never says I was smarts..)
2. That cropped sweater from Anthro is so worshipping…
3. My vote is the peppermint chocolate cake!!! Can I come over?
Are you around MI at all over the holidays? Perhaps a lunch meet up is necessary?
I can vouch for the Grand Traverse Pie Company. Me, who fancies herself a very good pie maker has turned over the reigns to them…..p.s. try the Bailey’s Chocolate Creme Pie. Always a big hit when we take to parties. It’s to die for.
Also, Amanda, I just did my Zingerman’s online order…….hint hint. You might not want to order yourself a stollen.
I love Zingermans’ coffee cake, delicious! I tried on the super cute Anthro sweater just last night–wanted it so badly and I’d take the J Crew in every color, how I love cozy sweaters….
Make the peppermint cake, you can’t go wrong with chocolate and mint–the best combo ever!
I think the Anthro sweater would make my “thunder thighs” even more thunderous! I have been buying jackets from there like crazy lately and I love them!!! Save me some coffee cake for when you come. We can add coffee cake to our agenda.
I love “life is good” stuff. shirts are great. my brother gets one every year for his birthday.
i would go with the chocolate cake, but that’s just because i like chocolate cake more than gingerbread. :)
love your list Amanda- as usual.
though this one made me a bit hungry.
as for #10..hmmm….they both look delish- but I would go for chocolate/peppermint. In fact I think I might just try that one myself.
gotta love Martha.
You have excellent taste. And you should make the second dessert.
we like Zingerman’s too! what the heck, where’s my Zingerman’s Mom?!?
