Two weeks until Christmas and somehow, things are managing to fall into place! Finally. Woo Hoo!
First and foremost. We are finished with the sucky! Woo Hoo! And let me tell you, that was so much easier than I thought it would be. I think we had two bad nap days. And because those days were such bad nap days, by the time bedtime rolled around somebody passed out cold the minute his head hit the crib mattress. I think we really did it at the best time possible age-wise because of the fact that he didn’t have a word for sucky just yet… so he never “asked” for it, if you know what I mean. Surprisingly, the fact that it was the holidays and we were so busy shopping and running around every day only seemed to help. I suppose you could say it was a total distraction. Well, kind of. Anyway, go figure.
Second! I have all (well, most, with the exception of a few little things that I can pick up at Target – but I’m just going to call it all of it) of my Christmas shopping done!! Woo Hoo! And most of my wrapping done! With the exception of all of E’s gifts. So that means I am ready to ship out my family’s gifts… and I hope they have room under their tree, because Santa Claus is coming to town! Woo Hoo! AND! My Christmas cards are in the mail! Dyno-mite!
Third! Can you tell I’m trying not to make a list… but I just can’t help myself? Ok, so back to the list that’s not really a list. The playgroup! It was a lot of fun. We all got together today here for a quick round up then we all drove over to a park that only two of the girls had been to before… which was really nice and very close by (bonus – new playgroup and new park). I’m sure you’re wondering what happened to our holiday playgroup bonanza… well, since it is 78 degrees here (yes, you heard me right) we decided to take advantage of the fabulous weather… which is pretty annoying if you ask me. We were all sweating while listening to Christmas music in the car on the way there. Then the kids flailed around at the park and got all sweaty too. Leave it to me to see the negative in the situation. No really, it was a lot of fun, even though we were hot and all over-dressed for 75 degrees at 10:30 am. Anyway, this seems to be a good group – I’m really fired up that I thought to ask everyone to start getting together. It’ll be good to have something regular with some different people/kids for Jack (and I) to get to know. So, next week we’re planning a little holiday kiddie party at my house since we didn’t really spend much time at my house today.
That’s it for now. Hope everyone is having a great week!
How in the world did you get so many gifts with ALL different wrapping paper? You are such a Martha I can’t take it! :)
Congrats on the bye bye sucky…you are my inspiration…it is happening over here ASAP. I want to be DONE with it by the 1st of the year. I am seriously jeal of your weather. I love the snow at Christmas, but would love a sprinkling of warmer days in the mix so we could go to the occasional playground every now and then.
Good job on the binky! Oh, and I hope all those gifts aren’t coming to my house! No, really, we have plenty of room so ship away!
good for you
it must feel good to get everything done so you can just kick back and really enjoy the holidays.
Don’t fight it! Make your lists. We LOVE your lists!
Maybe Santa can bring the weather when she comes to town. It has been 32 out and I am sick of chivering already.
