I apologize for being so behind with the posting lately.  I’ve been relying on facebook a little too much to keep everyone up with what’s going on… so here is a little July 4th update for those of you all who aren’t on facebook.

We took the kids to our neighborhood bike parade.  I think I spent an hour perfecting the ridiculous bike stroller and push car thingie decorations, only to walk in a parade that lasted about five minutes.  Jack wore his grumpiest pair of grumpy pants and acted pretty ridiculous, yelling at fellow parade participants to, “Get outta here!” “That’s MY Mommy!” and “It’s MY turn.”  We finished the parade and lined up for our free popsicles and Jack declared, “I don’t wanna popsicle!”   Okaaaay then.

Teddy is just about fed up with the whole picture-taking thing.

That night Grandpa and Grandma Z came over for s’mores (and would you believe neither of them had ever had them) and the festivities.  We lit a fire in the chiminea, roasted our marshmallows, caught fireflies, played with glow stick/necklace thingies (my $1 find at Michael’s… biggest hit ever), played with sparklers (aka sprinklers in Jack-speak), watched E set off some puny and rather stinky fireworks and later on after Teddy went to bed, Grandma Z, E, Jack and I walked down the street to watch a neighbor set off some pretty amazing fireworks.

It was probably one of the best 4th of July celebrations I’ve ever had.

Day 2

Somebody loves the Easter bunny.

Somebody loves the Easter bunny.

We had our first Easter egg hunt of the season last Sunday.  It went very well… we got about 37 pictures of Jack with the Easter bunny.  He started out patting his leg and when we left we had to pry him off of his lap.  We were the last ones leaving.  I felt pretty bad for the poor kid dressed up in the costume.

So, one of these days things will calm down and I can update you on our first Christmas without travel which somehow still managed to be unbelievably hectic holy cow.  Until then please enjoy some photos… here.  And if you look really close you can see some of the kitchen updates… once we’re completely done with all of the details (lighting and touch-up paint etc.) I’ll post before and after photos.  Anywho, I’m getting waaaaay ahead of myself.  Enjoy the Christmas photos.  And Happy New Year by the way!  I actually made a resolution this year… 30 days of shred.  Oh my goodness I’m sore.

I know… I’m getting behind.  And I’ve been meaning to post the Halloween pictures for quite some time now.  Here are some great pictures of my little turtle, courtesy of Grandma and Grandpa Z.  Who made sure Jack had a fantastic Halloween, while E and I were in the hospital.

I hope everyone had a good fourth of July weekend.  Ours didn’t quite turned out as planned, but we really didn’t have much planned, so how can I complain.  After a very long day on Wednesday of fun at the playground, followed by two very long showings (that pretty much kicked us out of the house from 12:30-4), lots of errand running and sweating, and cranky cranking from my napless toddler, we received news that there was some interest in the house.  Which resulted in nothing but an offer to someone else and a trip to the hospital for E & myself as a result of dehydration and stress induced contractions.

Yeah, Wednesday was totally crazy and way more than I could handle.  It was about 97 and both Jack and I were totally exhausted.  I had some contractions that night and the next day, so I called (after hours, of course) and they told me to head in to the hospital so they could assess the situation.  And of course, I did not have one single contraction the entire time I was there.  They weren’t concerned at all considering they weren’t painful, and went away when I laid down.  So, after all of that, I was pretty paranoid for the rest of the weekend, only getting out to the pool (where I sat in a chair and watched Jack and E play) and to refuel on pizza and ice cream.  I spent the rest of the weekend on the couch.  Not too exciting, but I suppose I probably needed it.

Here’s a few pool pictures and a belly shot for fun!
