Boy am I glad last week is over and done with!  We had seven showings in three days (not to mention the weekends!) and E has been working until painful hours of the night (poor guy) and well, I’ve just been exhausted.  All that traffic (through the house… which by the way spiked a ridiculous nesting phase, just in time for my cleaning lady to go MIA) and still not one offer.  Keep your fingers crossed for us.  I’m not sure how much more I can take.  Anyway, I feel like it’s been ages since I’ve posted anything with substance… well, some sort of an update, at least.  So, I suppose I’ll do it list style, because I’m feeling listy.

  1. Jack, Jack, Jack.  What a character this kid is.  I mean seriously.  I can hardly get over some of the things he’s been saying these days… he is a big fan of saying thank you.  Even when he’s playing by himself, you’ll hear him chattering on, telling this toy and that toy thank you.  Well, lately he’s been following it up with a “you’re welcome” as well (pronounced “a welka”).  But to top it off, now it’s “you’re welcome, honey”.  AGH!  So cute I could puke.
  2. He was getting really bad about picking his nose recently, but that has seemed to taper off a bit.  But recently I’ve discovered that a book I bought him quite a while back, called Yummy Yucky, has a page that says “Picking nose is yucky.”  HA!  So we read this all of the time.  It’s become a new favorite.  Well, now, when he picks his nose, he sticks his finger in his nose, and says, “a picking nose”.  Thanks for the heads up, bud.
  3. One last cute Jackism… a few days before his birthday I took him for ice cream, for something to do and because he was being so good.  And when he woke up from his nap, I asked him if he wanted to go get ice cream.  Of course yes… anyway, he was completely elated the entire ride, yelling from the back seat, “I- keem, its siting!  I-keem, its siting!” (Ice cream, exciting! ice cream, exciting!).  I have no idea where he got the exciting thing from… me, I’m sure, but when, no idea.  Anyway, now any time we do anything he deems as exciting, that’s all we hear!
  4. Ok, so I will officially be 14 weeks this week (tomorrow), and I can hardly believe how quickly it’s going this time around.  We’ll find out the sex of the baby in about a month (17 weeks) and I’m pretty pumped.  Of course the idea of a girl is always exciting, but I sort of have a feeling it’s a boy… even though I’ve already picked out the entire girl nursery – why do I do this to myself?  I did the same thing last time.  Girl stuff is just so dang cute.  Anyway, I’m pretty sure I’ll be surprised either way.  But if it’s a boy, I have no idea what we’ll do for boys names.  We had a list of 24 with Jack and I’ve looked back at the old list and hate them all.  Soo… hmmm.  I may need a little help.  I’ll let you know in about month.
  5. I’ve been feeling great this time around, which is kind of surprising actually, because after my last doctors visit we discovered that my thyroid is way out of whack.  Which is no surprise at all – it did the same thing with Jack.  Anyway, after receiving a call from my OB (yes, she actually called me herself) to discuss the subject – which I have to say I found quite cool – I wanted to give her a big “I TOLD YOU SO,” because I’ve been on them for weeks to check my levels and they kept telling me it was too soon.  So, anyway, back to the thyroid issue.  That may be have something to do with my completely ridiculous rapid weight gain… or maybe not, I suppose doubling your daily caloric intake can do that as well.  And it may also explain a few other issues I have been having that I will spare you all the details on.  Mom, you know what I’m talking about.
  6. Speaking of rapid weight gain, as hard as I’ve been on myself over it all, I’m still lighter than I was with Jack at this point in the pregnancy, so I guess I need to back off.  In case you’re interested here’s a couple belly shots.  I’m going to try to keep them coming on a regular basis… which I know you’re thrilled about.  But, hey, it’s nice to have them all organized for the baby book – so I might as well share.  Ok, and I have to say, in my defense that that is not the most flattering position – E gets home so late from work that we don’t have any natural light to photograph in, so I’m left to manuver the camera in the hall mirror.  So, I’m all contorted and stuff trying to get a side view of the belly.
  7. So no other news on the prego front.  I’m feeling really good and still working out as much as I was pre-baby – although not nearly as hard, but still… I didn’t work out at all when I was pregnant with Jack.  All I did was walk the dog every day.  So I’m pretty proud that I’m able to walk occasionally and get to the gym 2-3 times a week for an hour.
  8. Last but not least, cravings!  It wouldn’t be a prego list without an update on my cravings!  haha!  Ok, I’ll make it quick, considering this post is a novel in itself.  Pie – coconut cream, and sour cream lemon, I’m also DIEING for a strawberry rhubarb crumb pie from here (I’m going to try to hold off until my birthday), let’s see – bagels with cream cheese, and mexican food – the spicier the better (Texas Pete’s!), chocolate milk (still), and Squirt (once again… I wonder if it’s another boy).

Hope you’re all doing well!  Have a great week!

Here They Are!

So, the party turned out great.  It was pretty small… which we had planned- E’s parents, our good friends Tom & Meredith, and my good friend (and neighbor) Heather and her little girl.  I have to admit that I am not responsible for majority of the picture-taking this time around… and as much as I hate to admit it, I was a little jealous at first for that fact.  My father-in-law did an amazing job capturing some of those bubble shots.  Seriously some of them make me want to cry they’re so good.

Ok, sorry for the stupid link.  I’m having issues with photos again.  So, we’re just going to have to deal with it for now.  Just click away.

Oh.  I love you kid.  Whether or not the world can see how cute you are.  I hope you’re having fun!

Woo Hoo!  Nothing like a little chocolate and sprinkles to start off the day!

Ok, nothing to tell here.  He’s just cute and I wanted to share.

He even smiles for the camera!  While he’s standing still!

So I just liked this shot.  Kind of reminds me of superman.

We were having a very important conversation here.  Something about politics, I’m sure.

Just a Few Things

Ok.  So there seems to be some “problems” over here at Casa de Zzz.  Problems involving uploading photos to wordpress.  Which has been driving me to the brink of insanity.  And the funniest part of the whole situation is that this blog, is soo not important.  To anybody.  But you know, maybe me.  And I realize that you all are not anxiously awaiting my 12 week photo of my ridiculously bloated baby belly.  Nor are you that concerned if there is a photo included in Jack’s birthday post tomorrow… which BY THE WAY (in advance… and I’m sure this will crush some of you) will NOT be the booming success of last year’s birthday post.  I only say that – the part about the booming success – because, as of today, it has been viewed 1,024 times.  And while some blogs receive that many hits a day.  Mine does not.  But.  That post… and I’m assuming it has something to do with the title, is viewed more than once every single day.  Anway, my point is this, I wasn’t planning on doing another letter.  I don’t aspire to be like Dooce and write meaningful, poetic, touching monthly (or even yearly) letters to Jack.  At least not here.  I’m just not that eloquent and together – even on a yearly basis, when I have plenty of time to prepare.  So, with that being said, I still wanted to do something.  And considering I haven’t posted a picture of the kid in about a month, I figured it was about time.  That and I really wanted you all to see the party pictures!  When I have them.  And well, that just might not happen.  Something to do with the flash player and the firewall and I’m so G-blessed fricking gosh dang tired of screwing around with this son of a mother schist I want to freak out.  ARGH.  And what is it with me lately?  No more complaining.  I’m done for now.  Wish me luck- and that we can get this crap figured out so that you all can see how cute my kid is on his birthday.  And forget the belly pictures, you’ll have to wait until 14 weeks.

Oh, it’s been so long.  I mean a whole week since you’ve heard about my cravings.  But the complaining… I never complain, so I’m sure it won’t bother you if I sneak a little in, right?  Riiight.  Ok, here’s the list.  Enjoy.

  1. Ok.  I’m totally into tiny baby things… which, I suppose, is no surprise.  But seriously.  Look at these little booties.  And these! So fricking super-duper cute, I could puke.
  2. I am so in love.  These are quite possibly the most adorable onesies EVER.  And there’s even a holiday edition… oh, how I love the holidays.
  3. You know what else I love?  Designing my own crib bedding… which I heard about on Cool Mom Picks, which I also love… and where I also read about these super cute Mommy Cards.  Ok, so the girls I hang out with here would totally make fun of me… but seriously, they’re so dang cute.  And you can’t tell me that you haven’t scavenged your bag for a scrap of paper to give a new mom friend your number.
  4. I love this song.  Much better than this song.  Which Jack loves and requests, “HotDogSong, Mommy!” every time we get into the car.  Anyway, so the “Number Two” song keeps reminding me about my little man turning two.  Look at what I bought for our Number Two themed party… which is going to be teeny tiny… but seriously, I had to have a theme, right?
  5. I love cheese.  And cheese with rotisserie chicken.  And mustard.  And dessert.  And lemonade.  And chocolate milk.  Ok, so I’m not so sure that any of that is breaking news, but I had to get it in writing.  Oh, and cake is still a major food group, along with Cool Whip.  Oh Lord the cool whip.  It’s out of control.
  6. Who doesn’t love bathing suit shopping… hahahahaha!  Right.  Ok.  I need to do a tiny bit of complaining… and hopefully the fact that I’m already to number six on the list means that I will be able to get it off of my chest and no one will ever even notice.   So.  Here’s my complaint.  Maternity bathing suits are completely and totally ridiculous.  I have tried on about 37.  And none have any boob support.  I mean SERIOUSLY!  Who designs these things??  Pregnant women have large boobs.  And mine, well not to get all graphic on you but my 34DDs are large and in charge and I’d really rather not have to rest them on my fricking belly all summer long collecting sweat and all that business.  Gah.  Anyway, NO SUPPORT.  My main issue is that my rib cage, under the ladies is small, hence the 34, which is really a 32, but come on already, it is completely impossible to find a 32B let alone anything above a D.  Anyway, where was I?  Maternity bathing suits… most do not even have shelf bras!  So my 32 chest is a problem because the large ladies want to slide down through the suit and lay on my belly.  Uh.  It is just terrible.  And disgusting.  Anyway, so this is going to be a long hot dirty south summer and a girl needs a bathing suit.  So I am probably going to have to splurge and buy this cutie… that’s if it actually has a shelf bra in it, or something, for pete’s sake.  Either that or I’m going to have to whip one up with my fantastical sewing skills.  Right!!  Really, I’d much rather splurge on this… but something tells me that I’d be spilling out in every direction and that would NOT be cute.
  7. Ok.  So I should probably stop, but I haven’t even included anything from J Crew yet!  Agh!  So, all you bumpless ladies… I’m dieing here… look at these cuties!  Ok, so my northern girls are probably rolling with laughter right now.  But I am telling you, there is something about living in the south that makes you want to monogram the hell out of eveything, wear polka dots, bright colors, big jewelry and lilly pulitzer.

Ok.  That’s enough for now.  I need a nap.  And a snack.  Maybe a snack then a nap.  Sounds like a plan.
